Trailer Thursday #9

The Good Dinosaur (November 25, 2015)

What if the asteroid that hit earth and killed all the dinosaurs missed and dinosaurs were still roaming the earth with humans.

Pixar’s next great hit finally gets a trailer. This movie looks perfect for Pixar and the concept is hilarious. Having dinosaurs not go extinct and then to interact with a toddler is just great. I can’t wait to see the take on the dinosaurs, I expect a lot of comedy but also some darker action sequences.

Suffragette (October 23, 2015)

A group of women band together at the forefront of women’s rights during the feminist movement.

This looks like a great drama and so relevant too. With the issues of female salaries in Hollywood there is almost a return to the feminist movement occurring. The movie looks gritty and intense. The talent is off the charts with Streep, Mulligan and Bonham-Carter. I think we often find dramatic movies being male driven or overly emotional but this is about strong women making a change.

Point Break (December 25, 2015)

A government agent is sent undercover to stop extreme athletes from committing major crimes.

This remake of the 1991 film looks actually pretty decent. The perks of remaking this movie is that action spy movies are very trendy right now and with todays film technology it will allow the production to get better sequences. The action should be crazy and the scenery even greater. The trailer definitely makes you want to watch this movie and it has the potential to take the spot of the original. I think if marketing approaches this movie more as a new awesome contemporary movie rather than as a remake will make it more successful.

99 Homes (September 25, 2015)

A contractor and his family are evicted from their house and he goes to work for the man who evicted them.

I’m not completely sure about this movie. I have a feeling the trailer is going to hold the best parts of the movie. Often times with movies like this it gets too emotional and dramatic, that the audience can’t attach itself to the characters or the concept. Unfortunately since the movie has  fantastic cast, I expect them to over act and outshine the movie overall. The movie is relevant but Im not sure it is going to draw in the audience.

American Ultra (August 21, 2015)

A stoner finds out he is actually a sleeper spy who has been activated and now has been set for death.

This just looks like a waste. I’m sure it has a huge audience but come on. Is there really a need for a stoner turned agent. The action does look decent but it stops there. Maybe to enjoy the movie you also must be high while watching it.
